Black Bears erase halftime deficit to get past Hornets

DOVER, Del. — The University of Maine scored 40 points in the second half to overcome a 10-point deficit and defeat Delaware State University 59-56 in a men's basketball game at Memorial Hall Wednesday night.

Sean McNally scored 17 points to lead the Black Bears (2-1). Troy Barnies and Junior Bernal were the only other Black Bears scoring in double figures, with 10 points apiece.

Barnies had a game-high 12 rebounds for Maine, which made six 3-pointers in the second half. Gerald McLemore was 3 of 7 and Terrance Mitchell 2 of 8 from beyond the arc.

Jay Threatt led the Hornets (2-1) with 13 points.

GORDON 61, HUSSON 59: Aaron Trigg's 3-pointer with 50 seconds to play sparked Gordon (1-0) to a win over Husson (0-1) at Wenham, Mass.

Matt MacKenzie had 17 points and six rebounds for the Eagles.
