VESTAL, N.Y. — Binghamton won a shootout 4-2 Sunday to defeat the University of Maine in the semifinals of the America East women's soccer tournament.

Neither team scored in regulation or overtime, forcing a deciding shootout.

Meagan Price-Leibenzeder finished with seven saves for the third-seeded Black Bears (9-5-3), who were outshot 14-8 by the second-seeded Bearcats (9-6-2).

MIDDLEBURY 1, BOWDOIN 0: Amy Rowell headed in a pass from Drew Smith 6:41 into overtime to lift the third-seeded Panthers (11-2-2) over the sixth-ranked Polar Bears (8-7) in a NESCAC quarterfinal at Middlebury, Vt.

Kat Flaherty had 12 saves for the Polar Bears.

ST. JOSEPH'S 3, NORWICH 2: Jessica Needham scored on a penalty kick in the 50th minute as the top-ranked Monks (12-5-2) built a 3-1 lead and held off the No. 8 Cadets (8-10-1) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference quarterfinal at Standish.

Mikayla Call and Anna Willis also scored for the Monks.

WILLIAMS 4, COLBY 0: The top-ranked Ephs (15-0) scored just 23 seconds into the game and cruised to a win over the eighth-seeded Mules (6-8-1) in a NESCAC quarterfinal at Williamstown, Mass.

Loni Pasini made five saves for the Mules.

FIELD HOCKEY

BOSTON UNIVERSITY 1, MAINE 0: Allie Dolce scored on a rebound off a corner with 2:52 left in the first half to lift the Terriers (8-11, 4-1 America East) to a win over the Black Bears (12-6, 3-2) at Orono.

Maine goalkeeper Brittany Fleck had 11 saves.

BOWDOIN 3, AMHERST 0: Ella Curren and Katie Herter each scored in the first 15 minutes to lead the sixth-ranked Polar Bears (10-5) to a win over the third-seeded Jeffs (11-4) in a NESCAC quarterfinal at Amherst, Mass.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 88, ST. THOMAS 63: Coleman Findlay had 20 points and five rebounds and Matt Findlay added 15 points to lead the Seawolves (1-1) to a win at the Can-Am Tournament at Auburn.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY

UNH 5, MAINE 0: The Wildcats (7-1-2, 3-0 Hockey East) scored three goals during a 3:51 span early in the third period to pull away from the Black Bears (2-7-1, 0-3-1) at Durham, N.H.

MEN'S SOCCER

WESLEYAN 5, COLBY 0: The top-seeded Cardinals (11-0-4) scored three goals in a span of 10 minutes in the first half to break open a scoreless tie against the eighth-ranked Mules (5-8-2) in a NESCAC quarterfinal at Middletown, Conn.

BOWDOIN 3, TRINITY 0: Call Nichols headed in the go-ahead goal after a free kick from Sean Bishop in the 22nd minute as the fourth-seeded Polar Bears (11-3-1) downed the fifth-ranked Bantams (10-4-1) in a NESCAC quarterfinal at Brunswick.

Dan Hicks made six saves for the shutout.
