BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Luis Exposito's double down the right-field line in the top of the ninth inning scored pinch-runner Matt Sheely to give the Portland Sea Dogs an 8-7 win over Binghamton on Thursday.
The Sea Dogs, in fourth place in the Northern Division, trail third-place Trenton by a half game and are 3 1/2 games behind second-place New Britain.
The top two teams in each division qualify for the playoffs.

The Mets tied the game in the eighth on Shawn Bowman's three-run home run before Anderson started Portland's rally in the ninth with a double down the left-field line.
He was then replaced on the bases by Sheely.
Portland scored three runs to tie the game in the third.
With one out, Jason Place singled and Iggy Suarez walked. Nava smacked a two-run double over the head of right fielder Caleb Stewart and, one out later, a single to right by Jorge Jimenez tied the game.
Jose Coronado's home run in the bottom of the third gave the Mets a 4-3 lead, but Jimenez's two-out, bases-loaded infield single tied the game, 4-4.
NOTES: Anderson extended his hitting streak to five games, tying a season high.
