HARRISBURG, Pa. — Adam Mills became the first pitcher in franchise history to win six starts in one month as the Portland Sea Dogs beat the Harrisburg Senators 8-3 on Friday night at Metro Bank Park.
Mills (9-5) went seven innings, yielding three runs on five hits and no walks. He went 6-0 with a 2.31 ERA in July.
Jon Still doubled leading off the second inning and scored on Lars Anderson's single to give Portland a 1-0 lead. The Sea Dogs then sent nine men to the plate in the third and opened a 4-0 advantage, as Yamico Navarro hit a two-run double and scored on a single by Jorge Jimenez.
Ryan Kalish added an RBI double in the fourth to make it 5-0.
Harrisburg struck for three runs in the fifth, including back-to-back homers by Joel Guzman and Bill Rhinehart.
The Sea Dogs got their final three runs in the ninth, on a two-run homer by Jimenez and an RBI single by Juan Apodaca.
