Every year like clockwork I fly down from the frozen state of Alaska to Maine. I have been since I was three. But since I was ten (I'm fourteen now) I have been flying up by myself then having my parents join me a month later. Staying alone with my grandma has given me a closer bond with her. It also gives me time to go to various YMCA camps. My favorite one is the sailing camp down in Round Pond which I now am an Intern at. I have been going to that camp since I was eight, almost half my life and I'm very lucky to have. Three years ago I met the Martin family. Their youngest daughter, Teiga, was only a year younger than me so we became sailing buddies. But sadly their family was not there the next year, but the year after that they were. Teiga and I became very good friends; we also befriended a boy named Steven Kane. We became an inseparable trio. We have many inside jokes including one from a day at the beach were I brought a blow up Goodyear Blimp I had won at the Samoset Run later that day. We would try to sit on the blimp and when we would fall off the other two would yell, "YOU JUST GOT BLIMPED!!!" (Sorta like you just got pwned.)To this day we still use it, in fact it's written on the back of my life jacket in big, bold letters along with my sailing camp nickname, Bananahouse. Maine is so awesome and I’m very glad Maine is my second home, otherwise how ever would I have become best friends with Teiga and learned her favorite word is NNNYYYAAA!!!? YOU JUST GOT BLIMPED!!
