Summers are summers. No school. No homework. No teachers. But a summer in Maine is different. It’s exiting, adventurous, relaxing and fun plus a lot more. Maine is a perfect place to be whether it’s rainy, windy, or sunny. Maine is great because there is always something fun to do. It’s fun to play cards in Maine if it’s a rainy day. Me and my family does, we stay up all night playing uno, euchre, solitaire, war, and wizard. 10:00, 11:00, 12:00. The time never seems to matter. The 4th of July is the best holiday to spend on our lake. All the parties, the decorations, and the boat parade! The boat parade is when people decorate their boats and the top three best decorated boats win. My family and I always go out and see all the boats, and every year we say “next year we will enter and win,” and we never seem to do it. In the afternoons our family has kickball, baseball and soccer tournaments. Next it’s time for swimming, tubing, water skiing and boat rides. No matter what day or time it is we are always having fun. Another great thing about Maine is having a campfire. Singing campfire songs, telling stories and best of all roasting marshmallows! Going to a Sea Dogs game is always fun. The cool thing about the Sea Dogs is that some of the players on the Red Sox came from the Sea Dogs. As you can see Maine is a pretty fun state to be in. There is also lots of fairs and parades. Another reason I like Maine so much is that it has so much nature, wildlife and beauty in this wonderful state. That’s why I think summer in Maine Rocks!!!!!
