What is it about Maine summers... is it the lobster rolls at Red’s Eats in Wiscasset, yes. Is it riding the ferry boat out to Long Island ,yes. Is it catching fireflies at night and keeping them in a glass jar, yes. Is it spending all day outside with no TV’s, computers or video games and love ever minute, yes. Is it the farmers markets with fresh produce and friendly people in every town you see ,yes. Is it the freshest air you may ever breath, yes. Is it sitting at a table at the Water Front restaurant in Camden watching boats come and go, yes. Is it spending the day at Popham beach swimming and reading a book you’ve been dying to read all year but never had time, yes. Is it all the hikes you can take , yes. Is it all the shopping you can do in Freeport, yes. Is it the sound of looms in the morning ,yes. But above all the shopping ,eating, traveling around such a beautiful state it’s the time with family and friends that you see only when your in Maine and taking time to enjoy all the simple pleasures you get from being in a place that time has left behind a few years. What is it about Maine summers... It’s the way life should be.
