About 13 residents approved an estimated $60,000 municipal budget at the town meeting Saturday.
The school budget vote was postponed because School Administrative District 37 officials have not completed their budget process. Donna Edwards, chair of the board of assessors, said residents voted to have another town meeting by June 15 to cast their school budget vote.
The municipal budget increased by roughly $6,000 over last year. Residents voted to raise the remaining $5,000 needed to purchase a new furnace for Town Hall.
Voters also decided to double the cost of renting Town Hall to nonresidents to $100.
"Residents don't have to pay for it. If a nonresident wants to use it, $100 is not unreasonable," Edwards said.
Reflecting on the spirit of town meeting, she said, "The meeting went very well. People voiced their opinions, which is a good thing.
"The assessors went through the budget and tried to streamline what we could. We tried to cut back. The economy was on their minds, but people were still willing to appropriate the money."
All of the warrant items were approved, and voters supported several nonprofit organizations, such as Maine Public Broadcasting, the Red Cross, Oxford County Mental Health Services and the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital's emergency room.
