Final: Noble 45, Marshwood 44

Final: Noble held off a late rally by Marshwood to hang on for a 45-44 win. The Knights got a game-high 17 points from center Sloane Sorrell.

3rd Q: Noble got nine points from center Sloane Sorrell in the third quarter to go ahead 40-36.

Halftime Report: After trailing 25-18 with three minutes to play in the half, Noble rallied to tie it 27-27 at the half.
Alyssa Stokes hit a layup, missed a free throw then sank a three-pointer to make it 27-25 Noble.
Marshwood's Sarah VanHorn scored on a layup to keep things tied going into half time.

1st Q: Marshwood got five points from Michelle Wiliams in the first quarter on its way to a 15-12 lead.


Today's games at the Portland Expo: all Western Class A girls quarterfinals.

2 p.m., sixth-seeded Marshwood is taking on No. 3 Noble.

No. 2 South Portland plays seventh-seeded Biddeford at 3:30 p.m.

The evening session starts with No. 5 Westbrook vs. No. 4 Scarborough at 7 p.m. Then at 8:30 p.m., top-seeded Deering plays No. 8 Massabesic.
