FINAL: Winthrop 72, Calais 62
Sam Leclerc scored a game-high 28 points as the Winthrop High School boys basketball team beat Calais 72-62 to win the Class C state championship.
Ezra Damm added 15 points and Andrew Smithgall 10 for Winthrop, which played without starter Tim Gingras.
Sam Bell and Rod Tirrel each had 16 points for Calais.

FINAL: Winthrop 81, Hyde 71
FINAL: Sam Leclerc finished with 28 points and the Ramblers were able to pull out a win in the Western C quarterfinals on Monday.
Larry Foster added 17 and Erza Damm had 14 for Winthrop.
Josh Leonardson scored 24 to lead Hyde.
AFTER 3: Josh Leonardson had seven points in the third and Hyde clung to its lead.
Larry Foster had five in the third for Winthrop.
HALFTIME: Hyde went on a 9-2 run to end the second quarter and take a 39-32 lead at the half. Isaac Brower scored five straight points to give Hyde the lead, then hit two foul shots late during the run. Andrew Bogage also hit a jumper to help Hyde to the seven-point advantage.
Tim Gingras made a nice dish to a cutting Larry Foster, who hit a layup with about 2:30 left to give Winthrop a 30-29 lead, it's first of the game.

FINAL: Traip 73, Hall-Dale 57
FINAL: No. 11 Traip survived an 11-3 fourth-quarter run and the loss of center Cody Abbott (fouled out) to picked beat No. 3 Hall-Dale in a Western C quarterfinal at the Augusta Civic Center.
Brennen Connor led Traip with 24 points, while Tyler Cummings led Hall-Dale with 16.
3:02 left in fourth: Traip center Cody Abbott fouled out with 5:02 left in the fourth.
5:33 left in fourth: Tyler Cummings finished a 3-point play, Ryan Leach scored on a follow up and Josh Acedo on a fast-break layup as the Bulldogs cut the lead to 13.
END OF THIRD: Eric Modica scored two straight baskets down the stretch as Traip went into the fourth quarter with a 21-point lead.
2:00 left in third: Brennen Connor has nine points in the third quarter for the Rangers, who pushed their lead to 22.
Halftime: The Rangers went on an 11-0 run to start the second quarter and jumped out to a 21 point lead at the half.
