Who is going to move up?
While most promotions in the Red Sox minor league system take place in the summer, a few players get pushed up a level around this time, because of a combination of performance and circumstances.
In today's column in the Sunday Telegram, we take a look at possible candidates for promotion.
In Saturday's minor league games, Daniel Bard (1.32) recorded his fourth save for Pawtucket (1 IP, 2 H, 1 K) ... Iggy Suarez played third base and went 2-for-4.
Outfielder Matt Sheely made his offensive debut for Portland and went 2-for-3 with a walk.
Two Salem prospects produced: Outfielder Jason Place (.280) went 3-for-4, and catcher Luis Exposito (.258) was 3-for-5.
Greenville starter Bryan Price (2.30), a first-round draft pick last June, recorded 5 strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings ... catcher Tim Federowicz (.261) was 2-for-4.
