Not a week into the minor league season, and rosters are being adjusted for injuries.

Heading up the hurts is a pulled hamstring suffered by Pawtucket starter Clay Buchholz. He injured it during a workout.

Director of Player Development Mike Hazen, in Portland for one of his routine visits, did not think Buchholz would miss much time.

Pawtucket reliever Devern Hansack may be out a little longer. He suffered a dislocated shoulder. I do not have the details how that happened.

Pitchers from extended spring training are expected to fill the gaps created by the Buchholz and Hansack injuries (reliever Rocky Cherry is a candidate).

Pawtucket is also short an infielder with Gil Velazquez replacing the injured Jed Lowrie in the majors. No replacement has been named.

In Portland, starter Ryne Lawson is expected to miss a start with a stiff shoulder. He is on the DL and has been replaced by reliever Justin Hedrick (recently signed by the Red Sox after the Giants released him).
