Buchholz retires side
Clay Buchholz began his start at Hadlock Field with three fastballs - all for balls.
He settled down and retired the side - groundout, fly out, strike out.
He threw 11 pitches, 7 for strikes. Buchholz did not throw an off-speed pitch until the third batter, throwing a curve for strike two, and getting Danny Valencia to swing at a change-up for strike three.
