Tarp on the field; game iffy
In the clubhouse, David Ortiz is eating Mexican food, and signing baseballs for Sea Dogs players.
Outside, the tarp is on the Hadlock Field infield, as fans wait in the rain, hoping the Sea Dogs - and Ortiz - will play today.
According to my exclusive sources (i.e., www.weather.com), there is a good chance the rain will continue ... the Sea Dogs people, who have their own radar here at Hadlock, remain optimistic.
If today is rained out, there will be a doubleheader Thursday since this is the last time the Connecticut Defenders come to Portland this year ... of course, Ortiz won't be here Thursday.
