Dogs leading; Rays hoping
The Portland Sea Dogs lead the Reading Phillies 4-2 after seven innings, on a hot Monday afternoon at Hadlock Field. The RBI hits have come courtesy of Bubba Bell, John Otness, Tony Granadillo (double) and Zach Daeges.
Kyle Jackson pitched a season-high six innings (6 IP 6 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 7 K), and Daniel Bard is in from the pen (1 IP, 1 H, 1 K so far).
Thought you might like to see a St. Pete Times story on the Tampa Bay Rays as they keep hoping their young players hold on.
