Bowden finally allows a hit

Portland Sea Dogs ace Michael Bowden retired the first 14 Reading Phillies he faced, before yielding two straight singles, with two outs in the fifth, Friday evening at Hadlock Field.

The next batter popped out. Bowden has thrown 68 pitches (48 strikes) so far.

The Sea Dogs lead, on Mark Wagner's two-run homer in the second.
