Colon is ready
Unless the Red Sox have a surprise plan, pencil Bartolo Colon into the Boston starting rotation - say, this Tuesday against the Royals.
Colon showed he is ready with a gem pitched for Triple-A Pawtucket, Thursday afternoon in Buffalo Colon pitched a one-hit shutout over 6 innings, in Pawtucket's 2-0 win.
Colon retired the first 11 batters, and 18 of the 19 batters he faced. Michael Aubrey's line drive single to right in the fourth inning stopped the perfection.
6 innings, no runs, 1 hit, no walks, 4 strikeouts.
Clay Buchholz is on the disabled list.
It's Bartolo's time.
