Good pitching matchup tonight

While the Red Sox are on a roll, the Sea Dogs have dropped out of first place with a six-game losing streak on their trip to Bowie and Trenton.

The Sea Dogs return home tonight and the game features two top prospects on the mound. Justin Masterson pitches for Portland, while the New Hampshire Fisher Cats will feature Brett Cecil, the Toronto Blue Jays first-round draft pick from last June.

Elsewhere in the minors, Jeff Bailey continues his hot streak from Pawtuckiet (.390 in his last 10 games), going 3-for-4 with his fifth home run. He raised his average to .318.

In the Sea Dogs loss, Mark Wagner and Zach Daeges accounted for two-third of the Sea Dogs hits, getting two apiece.

In advanced Class A Lancaster, shortstop Argenis Diaz continues to struggle. He went 0-for-4 Sunday, dropping his average to .208.

In lower Class A Greenville, we continue to await Daniel Bard's promotion. The reliever kept his ERA at 0.00 with two more scoreless innings (1 H, 2 K).

Outfielder Ryan Kalish is warming up after a stay in extended spring training. In his 10th game for Greenville, he went 4-for-4.

I'll check in later from Hadlock Field.
