Pauley starts in place of Beckett
According to reports out of Boston, former Sea Dogs pitcher David Pauley will start for the Boston Red Sox tonight, in place of an ailing Josh Beckett.
Kevin Cash is catching tonight, presumably because Jason Varitek is also still too sick to play.
Pauley made his major league debut in 2006, jumping from Portland to the Sox. He spent all last year with Pawtucket.
In Sea Dogs news, outfielder Jay Johnson did indeed ruptured his Achilles tendon Monday night and is gone for the year.
