Today's lineup, etc
As promised, the blogs will keep coming from Fla.
Today's lineup already has a change. Doug Mirabelli was scheduled to catch, but Dusty Brown said he just found out he's behind the plate.
Today's top story is the Red Sox debut of Bartolo Colon.
Saw 2007 Sea Dogs pitchers Beau Vaughan and Jose Vaquedano in the Red Sox locker room. They are "just in case" pitchers for today.
Here's the scheduled lineup for the Red Sox:
Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
Dustin Pedroia, 2B
David Ortiz, DH
Manny Ramirez, LF
Mike Lowell, 3B
J.D. Drew, RF
Sean Casey, 1B
Doug Mirabelli (Dusty Brown), C
Alex Cora, SS
The lineup is similar to the one the Red Sox will likely use in the regular season - just add Jason Varitek batting seventh, Kevin Youkilis eighth, and Julio Lugo (maybe) ninth.
A couple other pregame sights: Brandon Moss beating Jed Lowrie in cribbage in the locker room ... Lowrie couldn't believe that the amount of snow in Portland is more than last year, when the Sea Dogs spent their first week conducting indoor workouts ... Saw old friend Jeremy Owens (Sea Dogs, '03) warming up in a Rays uniform. Owens, an outfielder, played for the Rays' Triple-A team last year.
