Quick scenes
John Henry trying to light his victory cigar. The thing was huge. He needed a blowtorch.
Theo Epstein posing with his famiy, and the World Series trophy. Haven't seen Epstein smile like that all year.
Manny Delcarmen shivering in the Denver air – in his champagne-soaked T-Shirt, but relenting for interview afer interview.
Bobby Kielty wondering what he did right to go from being released by Oakland to ending up on a World Series team, and hitting the game-winning home run.
The thousands of Red Sox fans who were spread out among crowd of 50,000 at Coors Field, and then gathered together in the lower box seats.
Among their chants: Thank you Red Sox ... Re-Sign Lowell ... One more year (directed toward Curt Schilling) ... Don't sign A-Rod.
Dustin Pedroia wandering about the Coors Field infield during the celebration, taking it all in ... maybe the first of many for the second baseman.
Some thoughts:
Jacoby Ellsbury is suddenly a name that all the national baseball media knows.
Can you imagine the bobblehead selections for giveaways at Hadlock Field?
The Red Sox are building a power (dare I say, dynasty). They won their first five World Series in a span of 16 seasons (1903-1918). Now they have won two in four years.
And with that pitching staff, there will likely be more.
Lots more to say ... I'll check back later after some sleep (hopefully, a lot of sleep)
