Wondering about the pitching
As I sit here at the Manchester Airport, waiting for the cattle call known as Southwest Airlines, I am wondering about the Red Sox.
Do they have enough pitching?
The team, that has been built on strong arms all season, is looking suspect.
What will Boston do with Eric Gagne? Can he possibly be trusted again in a tight situation. (Will he develop a sudden injury - "tightness in the shoulder" or something and be replaced by Bryan Corey? That sounds extreme, but Boston may need another arm.
Now if Daisuke Matsuzaka pitches a gem Monday, then the bullpen can rest, and hopes will turn to Tim Wakefield.
Wakefield? Who knows what the Red Sox will get out his knuckler.
Then again, Cleveland has Jake Westbrook and Paul Byrd going in Games 3 and 4. Both can pitch well and both can get hit hard.
Just wondering.
I'll be in Cleveland this afternoon. Hope to have more to report.
