The announcement was made by Executive Vice President/General Manager Theo Epstein. Boston currently has 31 players on its active roster.
All six players have major league experience with Buchholz, Ellsbury, and Moss seeing action with the Red Sox this season and Breslow and Corey pitching for the club in 2006. Clayton was signed to a Pawtucket contract on August 23 after being released by the Toronto Blue Jays on August 8.
