Drop Drew on the D.L.
Give J.D. Drew and his on-again, off-again aching hamstring a rest. The Red Sox could use a healthy and energized Drew for the closing months of the season. Why play this game of Now He Plays. Now He Can't?
My reasoning for such a move are not completely objective. I want to see Brandon Moss get a chance in right field. I know everyone says Ellsbury is the future, but Moss may figure into the plans, too (just with less hype).
And did I mention that Moss is one of the subjects of a story coming up in the Sunday Telegram? The shameless plugs conintue.
Back to Drew. When he gets back, put him back in the fifth spot or farther down the lineup, with maybe Mike Lowell in the 5-spot. Kevin Youkilis is an on-base machine, with some occasional pop. He does not look copmfortable in the 5-spot.
Hope to blog again tomorrow (depends on my breaks from reading the Deathly Hallows).
