Almost Roger time
Waterfront Park is buzzing with media from New York and Boston, plus the locals, as well as yours truly. We all wait for Roger Clemens. The Sea Dogs are getting caught up in the atmosphere. While the Trenton Thunder took batting practice, the Sea Dogs watched from their dugout.
Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein is supposed to be here.
But Epstein is not here to watch The Roger. Sea Dogs pitcher Clay Buchholz is the Red Sox No. 1 pitching prospect. Who knows? He could be making his last start for the Sea Dogs. Visits from Theo have been known to precede promotions.
Jeff Corsaellti will be leading off tonight.
"Any time you face a guy of this caliber, you get excited and amped up. At the same time, we’ll play our game. If we go out and try to to do too much, we won’t do well at all. Just try to stay loose and go out and have fun."
ESPN2 will reportedly be breaking into its telecast whe Roger is pitching.
On the internet, www.milb.com and www.mlb.com are scheduled to carry the game.
