What if Roger gets hit?
What happens if Rogers Clemens gets knocked around tonight by the Portland Sea Dogs, a team which has scored a total of one run in the past two games?
If Clemens struggles with Jeff Corsaletti, Jed Lowrie and Cory Keylor, how can he expect to succeed against Lugo, Youkilis and Ortiz?
The Sea Dogs have a chance to add to the angst experienced by Yankees fans this year (that is likely the first time I've used the word angst in describing someone else besides a long-time Red Sox fan) with a big game against The Roger.
Then again, if Clemens is on and Pettitte is dealing in New York tonight, hope will flicker in the Bronx.
A quick minor league report: Pawtucket's three outfielders did well last night with Jacoby Ellsbury (3-for-4), David Murphy (2-for-5) and Brandon Moss (2-for-5, his eighth home run). pacing the Pawsox.
Scores in Lancaster, Calif. continue to soar. Lancaster beat Inland EMpire 19-7 last night. Outfielder Bubba Bell (.352) went 4-for-4, and infielder Tony Granadillo (.362) was 3-for-5. Could both be in Portland by June?
I'll check in tonight from Trenton.
