The Yankees are coming
My car broke down on the Maine Turnpike, on my way to Fenway this morning, but at least I did not miss anything. Today's rainout actually sets up the Red Sox rotation nicely for the Yankees series next weekend. Meanwhile, the Sea Dogs will welcome the Yankees Double-A Trenton Thunder Monday through Wednesday.
With the Red Sox rained out, Josh Beckett gets the start today (although a 10 a.m. game time seems a little wishful thinking), with Daisuke Matsuzaka going Tuesday at Toronto, followed by Wakefield and Tavarez. When the Yankees come to Fenway for the weekend, Boston will have Curt Schilling Friday, then Beckett and Matsuzaka.
Can't figure out the Yankees rotation yet, with injuries hampering the Yanks. Wang does not look ready, with another rehab start scheduled for Thursday.
Andy Pettitte is down 2-0 to the A's, last I checked the game this afternoon, with Derek Jeter's sixth error of the season leading to the first run.
Here's hoping the Thunder-Sea Dogs game gets played Monday at 4 p.m. All six Eastern League games were postponded on Sunday.
Will check back later tonight.
