Sox update
Former Sea Dogs ace Devern Hansack just finished an impressive outing against the Devil Rays. He pitched a perfect three innings, with three strikeouts .... And in the shameless plug dept., you can read more about Hansack in the Maine Sunday Telegram.
Coco Crisp is playing his first games since injuring his shoulder. So far, he is 0-for-1 with a fly out to the warning track in center, and a walk.
In the third inning, Mike Lowell ripped a bases-loaded line drive to left. But former teammate Dustin Mohr made a leaping catch to end the inning. As Mohr ran towards his dugout, Lowell took off his helmet and pretended to be throwing it at Mohr.
Mike Timlin still has not thrown off the mound, after straining an oblique muscle on March 7. Manager Terry Francona said Timlin will likely go on the disabled list and be ready a week or so into the season.
Timlin is important in Francona's plans. If a save situation comes up and Jonathan Papelbon is not available, Francona said he will likely go to Timlin.
