WOOLWICH: Fire vehicle OK'd, up to $285,000
By Dennis Hoey, Staff Writer Maine Sunday Telegram Sunday, May 13, 2007

Voters approved the purchase of new pumper-tanker truck for the Fire Department at their annual town meeting Wednesday.
David King, chairman of the Board of Selectmen, said the town is authorized to spend up to $285,000 on the vehicle, which would replace the department's 1978 firetruck.
"We've gotten our nickel's worth out of that truck," King said.
In other business, meeting participants restored $5,000 to the junior athletics program at Woolwich Central School.
The program funding, which was cut last year, will support sports programs such as track and gymnastics for students at the kindergarten-through-eighth-grade school.
Supporters use the town's donation to supplement what they are able to raise privately.
About 200 people attended the meeting, which addressed 66 articles.
