Éustis: Snowmobile club will get $7,500
Staff Writer Maine Sunday Telegram Sunday, March 4, 2007

It took two tries, but one of the state's largest snowmobile clubs finally got the support it needed from its hometown.
The Arnold Trail Snowmobile Club had requested $7,500 from Eustis at the town's annual meeting Saturday, but a contingent of taxpayers who said the club should be self-supporting moved to cut it to $1,500.
That bid was barely banished, 12-13, before a new show of hands for the original $7,500 passed, also by a one-vote margin, Selectman Jay Wyman said.
The funding -- around $1,500 from snowmobile registrations -- will go toward maintaining trails connecting downtown businesses to the state's interconnected trail system.Ý
About 40 voters worked through the 34-article warrant in about 90 minutes Saturday, Wyman said.
There was little discussion as residents approved a Fire Department Service Billing Ordinance that will allow the town to recoup costs incurred when the department responds to emergencies, including those in nearby unorganized territories.
