Daniel Robert Kent Barra is the son of Richard R. and Laura R. Barra. Daniel has been accepted at three universities and one college. From his list of acceptances he has decided to attend the Honors College at the University of Maine at Orono majoring in Pre-Medicine. He plans to attend medical school at Tufts University. His major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include football (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades), track (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th) for which he received the Most Improved Player Award, twice honored at the 'Breakfast of Champions,' Prom Fashion Show (11th and 12th), and recipient of book awards (9th, 10th, and 11th). He is also the recipient of the Yale Book Award.
Hope Kathryn Beisswanger is the daughter of Brad and Nancy Beisswanger. Hope has been accepted at two universities and three colleges and will attend Fairfield University to major in Nursing. Her major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School included playing soccer, basketball and lacrosse for all four years of high school. She was captain of the soccer and basketball teams in her senior year. She was captain of the lacrosse team in her junior and senior years. She is a member of the National Honor Society, and Interact Club (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th) where she became treasurer in her senior year. She is the recipient of the St. Michael's Book Award, DAR Citizenship Award and Western Maine Conference Citizenship Award.
Eric W. Brown is the son of William and Dianna Brown. Eric has been accepted at one college and one university. He has decided to attend Daniel Webster College and major in Homeland Security. His major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include being a member of the National Honor Society where he became Vice President and Light Board Operator providing lighting for school plays (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th). He was also awarded Student of the Trimester (9th and 10th). Eric has also volunteered his time at the Wells Reserve and has worked at Best Buy in Biddeford for two years.
Ryan William Brown is the son of William and Dianna Brown. Ryan was accepted to two colleges and one university. He has elected to attend Suffolk University to major in Sociology and Marketing. His major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include being a member of the National Honor Society where he became President, recipient of academic awards in CP Algebra/Geometry (9th and 10th) , Spanish (10th, 11th and 12th), English (9th and 10th) and Physical Science I Chemistry. He was also a member of the Math Team and recipient of the Saint Michael's Book Award. In addition, he has volunteered for York County Shelter programs.
Molly Parker Burgess is the daughter of Carol and John Burgess. Molly has been accepted at four universities and one college. From this list she has decided to attend St. Anselm College to major in Biology. Her major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include basketball, captain of the lacrosse team, the Interact Club where she served as Vice President and Treasurer, Drum Major (12th grade), recipient of the JV Pride Award in basketball, JV Pride Award and Coach's Award for lacrosse, Western Maine Conference Citizenship award, book awards (9th and 10th) and First Place in the Literary Achievement Awards for 2009. Molly also noted that she received the Joshua Stevens Grand Marshall Award in fourth grade.
Matthew James DiBona is the son of David M. and Susan D. DiBona. Matthew is the Salutatorian of the Class of 2009. He has been accepted at two universities and three colleges. From these acceptances he has selected to attend Springfield College and major in Sports Management. His major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include football, wrestling (Captain in senior year), track and field, and member of the National Honor Society. He has received the Maine Principal's Association Award, William Barry Sr. Award, Edward "Bull" Durham Award, Student of the Trimester (2nd in 2008), Most Improved Wrestler (2005), Warrior Pride Award for wrestling in 2008, recipient of numerous book awards (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th) and recognized for receiving high honors in every trimester.
Dalton Thomas Link is the son of Don and Tina Link. Dalton was accepted at five schools but will attend the University of Southern Maine where he plans to major in Journalism. His major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include receiving the Warrior Pride Award for JV tennis, member of the National Honor Society where he became Secretary, member of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Committee (NEASC), recipient of various book awards, and named student of the Trimester (1st 2008).
Kendra Janelle MacDonald is the daughter of Diane C. Griffin and Charles F. MacDonald III. Kendra is the Valedictorian for the Class of 2009. She has been accepted at three universities and has selected the University of Maine at Orono where she will study Animal Sciences with a focus on Pre-Veterinarian. Her major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include outdoor track team (9th and 10th), named MVP of the girls track team (9th), math team (11th), served as member of NEASC Committee (11th and 12th), member of the National Honor society (11th and 12th), recipient of Phi Beta Kappa of Maine Certificate of Achievement (11th), selected to attend 'Breakfast of Champions' (11th and 12th), recipient of numerous certificates of achievement in classes (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th), and recipient of numerous book awards (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th).
Brittany Michelle Tracy is the daughter of Lee P. Tracy and Edith M. Rooney. Brittany has been accepted at one university and three colleges. From that list she has selected Gordon College to major in Theatre Arts. Her major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include Marching Band, Youth Advocacy Program, National Honors Society, the Wells Players, listed in the National Year Book as well as Chorus, and Concert Band. She teaches Sunday school and is a member of a youth group.
Sarah Michelle Valente is the daughter of Dawn Valente. Sarah has been accepted at four colleges and has selected to attend Bay Path College to major in Education. Her activities/awards while at WHS include member of the Interact Club, school volunteer at Wells Elementary School, AP Scholar and recipient of the St. Anselm's College Book Award.
