Katherine Daly
Katherine Daly, the daughter of Chris Daly and Laura Fournier, is the Valedictorian of the Class of 2009. Accepted at the University of Connecticut, the University of Rhode Island, and Colorado University, she has decided to attend the University of Maine at Orono where she will study chemical engineering. An active participant in the Traip Academy Dramatic Arts, Kat has been an actor and a member of the technical crew for four years. She has held leading parts, competed in regional performances, and managed tech groups backstage. As a member of the Heritage Club with a desire to experience a different culture, Kat traveled to Italy spending time in Venice, Florence, and Rome. Kat helped to establish the Gay Straight Alliance and in her role as president she has worked with others to plan educational and social events and provide support to members of the student body. Kat is member of the National Honor Society, serving as vice president during her senior year and helping to plan charitable events and fund raising activities. Kat has assisted at the Big Arts Community Recreation Center in Florida where she worked with toddlers and older children setting up craft activities, mentoring, and supervising children. Kat held a part time position as a junior counselor at New Heights where she helped to plan trips and chaperoned groups of children as they went mountain biking, sight seeing in Boston, roller skating, and surfing. . She assisted in rebuilding a historical/public barn in 2006, and most recently Kat has painted a 6 x 10 foot mural on the wall of Circle Subs in Kittery.

Hana Eaton
Hana Eaton, the daughter of Nancy Peschel and Robert Eaton, is the Salutatorian of the Class of 2009. Hana was accepted at the University of Maine at Orono, University of Maine at Amherst, Emmanuel College, and Stonehill College, where she has decided to attend. An active member of student council, Hana served as secretary during her junior year and president during her senior year. She also served as secretary of her class during her freshman and sophomore years. For four years Hana has served as the stage manager for Traip Academy Dramatic Arts. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, an exchange student to Spain during her junior year, and a member of the Heritage Club traveling to Greece during her sophomore year. Working on the Ranger Yearbook, she was the copy editor during her sophomore year, the underclassmen editor during her junior year, and editor during her senior year. Athletically Hana has contributed to the Traip community by playing four years of varsity soccer, serving as captain her senior year, and participating in track and field, where she was named to the Western Maine Conference All-Academic Team. Hana has contributed to her community by working with children in the Kittery Recreation Youth Soccer League and at the Special Olympics. Hana was the recipient of the Western Maine Conference Citizenship Award.

Chelsea Morrill
Accepted at Mount Ida College, the University of New England, the University of New Haven, and the University of Maine at Orono, Chelsea Morrill, daughter of Sharon and Paul Morrill, will be attending Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science where she will study dental hygiene. Chelsea has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years, serving as secretary during her senior year. She played varsity basketball for two years and varsity field hockey for four years, receiving the Most Improved Player Award in her junior year. Since the age of three, Chelsea has studied dance and ballet. Chelsea has contributed to her community as a camp counselor for two summers, and she was a volunteer at the Fair Tide Thrift Store.

Zachary Eaton
Zachary Eaton, the son of Nancy Peschel and Robert Eaton, has been recognized for academic honors, has served as a senior class officer and has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years. Active in sports, Zach played soccer for four years, served as captain during his senior year, received the Coach's Award, and was named as a member of the Western Maine All-Academic Team. He participated in track and field for four years, qualifying for the state championship each of those four years. For the past eleven years, he has been swimming for the Portsmouth Swim Team, serving as captain for three years. He is a lifeguard for the Portsmouth Recreation Department, and he volunteers at the Special Olympics for swimming and track and field, and at the First Congregational Church of Kittery Point. Zach plans to continue swimming at Clark University where he will study management. He was also accepted at Bentley University, St. Michael's College, the University of Maine at Orono, and the University of Massachusetts. Zach has served as an eighth grade mentor and was a recent recipient of the Western Maine Citizenship Award.

Jessica Abbott
Jessica Abbott is the daughter of Pamela Edwards. She was accepted at Emmanuel College and the University of Massachusetts in Boston. Jessica was an actor with Traip Academy Dramatic Arts and is a member of the National Honor Society. She acted with Project Aware using improvisation to help students understand the negative affects of drug and alcohol use and abuse. She also was a volunteer in the Obama campaign. Jessica has a keen interest in creative writing and a passion for music, most especially guitar. She has decided to pursue her interest in music by playing in a band in Minneapolis. Jessica writes lyrics and music for herself and for her band and has a desire to continue her study of music or creative writing.

Sydney Carter
Sydney Carter is the daughter of Mary and Jon Carter. Syd was accepted at the University of New Hampshire, Bond University in Australia, the University of Delaware, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and has decided to attend Florida International University to study hospitality management. Syd was a member of the student council for four years and the Key Club for one year. She lettered in field hockey four years and participated in both indoor and outdoor track for two years. An active community member, she has been a camp helper at youth field hockey camp; she is active in church events and received the Silver Award in Girl Scouts. Syd has been employed by Bob's Clam Hut for the past four years.

Mary Jo Cooper
Mary Jo Cooper is the daughter of Carol and James Cooper. A talented trombone player, Mary Jo has been a member of the band throughout her high school experience. She has been an avid bowler for thirteen years, and she competed in martial arts at DTS in Kittery. She enjoys writing and reading and worked as a library aid in the Traip Academy library. Mary Jo would like to travel around the world and has a desire to help others. She has decided to take some time off from her schooling until she decides what she would like to pursue.

Jordyn Cronen
Jordyn Cronen is the daughter of Tammy Harris and Jeramie Whipple. Accepted at the University of Maine at Orono, the University of Tampa, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and Thomas College, Jordyn has decided to major in biology and minor in pre-med at the University of New Hampshire. A very active member of the Traip community, Jordyn has been a member of the student council for three years, serving as treasurer. She was elected class president during her freshman year and secretary of her class during her junior year. Jordyn is a member of the National Honor Society and served as chair of the prom committee. Playing varsity basketball for three years Jordyn received the Coach's Award and was named to the Western Maine Conference All-Academic Team and the Western Maine All-Conference First Team. Jordan has contributed over 100 hours to the Center for Wildlife where she has helped to rehabilitate injured wild animals. On the honor roll for four years at Traip Academy, she received the Principal's Award for Academic Excellence in four different subjects.

Charles Denault
Charles Denault, the son of Cindy and Charles Denault, has been an active member of the Traip learning community throughout his high school experience. Participating for three years in indoor track and four years in outdoor track, Charles served as captain and was the recipient of an All-Academic Award. Charles has been a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Exchange Program, and Project Search at the University of New Hampshire. He has contributed to the community through the Iris Scan Program sponsored by the Kittery Police Department and volunteered with the Special Olympics. For the past three-and-a-half years, Charles has been an employee of the Bagel Caboose. An interest in flying has resulted in his working towards getting his private pilot's license. Espousing a career goal of dentistry, Charles has shadowed many dentists throughout the seacoast. Accepted at the University of Southern Maine and the University of New Hampshire, Charles has decided to attend UNH where he will undertake a pre-dental course of study.

Anthony Muccio
Fascinated by how digital pictures are programmed, Anthony Muccio has decided to undertake the study of game development at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida where he will pursue his Bachelor's Degree. Using 3-dimensional graphing techniques and codes, he intends to help create games that will engulf the players in worlds that exist far beyond the limits of their imagination. Anthony, the son of Leisa and Frank Muccio, has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and participated in the Art Club and Key Club for one year each. An active and proud participant of the Boy Scouts of America for the past ten years, Anthony is a member of Troop 307 from Kittery. He has not only taken advantage of the many camping and outdoor activities, but has thoroughly enjoyed the many community service events including the annual Seapoint Beach cleanup, placing flags on the graves of veterans for Memorial Day, selling Christmas trees for charity, collecting food for local food pantries, assisting in repair and renovation of local churches, and working on other projects which have helped his peers earn their Eagle Scout awards. Anthony enjoys spending time with his friends, seeing all of the new movies when they come out, and traveling around the United States with his family. He is planning a cross-country road trip with friends.

Heather Orr
An active member of the Traip community, Heather Orr, daughter of Sharon Orr and Steven Orr, plans to attend Emmanuel College where she will pursue the study of sociology. Heather was also accepted at the University of Maine at Farmington. For two years Heather has been a member of the Diversity Club and the student council, serving as treasurer and vice president of the latter. In the athletic arena, Heather played varsity field hockey for four years, serving as captain during her junior and senior years. She received the Most Valuable Player Award during her senior year and was named to the Western Maine Conference Second Team her sophomore year and the First Team her senior year. Playing varsity girls' basketball for four years and serving as captain for her sophomore, junior, and senior years, Heather received the Coach's Award in her freshman year, the Most Valuable Player Award in her sophomore year, and was named to the Western Maine Conference Team during her sophomore year and received Honorable Mention for her senior year. A sports ambassador for People to People, Heather traveled to Austria to play basketball. Serving her community, Heather has been a coach and counselor for the Kittery Recreation Basketball program, served as a mentor at Shapleigh Middle School, was a counselor at a field hockey camp, and was a church camp counselor for two years.

Olivia Roy
The daughter of Tim and Carolyn Roy, Olivia Roy was accepted at Simmons College, the University of Vermont, and Springfield College, where she has decided to pursue a degree in physical therapy. Olivia has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years, and for one year each, a member of the Heritage Club, the prom committee, and Team Green. Active in field hockey for all four years, Olivia received the Coach's Award, and was named to the Western Maine Conference All-Academic Team and the Western Maine Conference Second Team for field hockey. She also participated for four years in indoor track, where she served as captain and received the Most Improved Award, the Coach's Award, and was named to the Western Maine All-Academic Team as well as four years in outdoor track, where she received the Coach's Award. Olivia has served her community by helping with Special Olympics and working at middle school track meets. In preparation for her course of study at Springfield College, Olivia has spent seven months shadowing a licensed physical therapist at Kittery Physical Therapy.
