Taylor Applebaum is the daughter of Brett Applebaum and Dorothy Gutierrez of Falmouth. She is the Valedictorian of the Class of 2009 and the recipient of the Maine Principals' Association Award. She is a National Merit Finalist and a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar. Taylor has received the University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award and the Mount Holyoke Book Award and has been recognized for academic achievement in math, Spanish, and English. She is the Vice President of the Falmouth High School Key Club and a member of the National Honor Society and Adventure Leadership. Taylor ran cross-country and track at Falmouth. Her senior year, she served as a captain of the cross-country team and received the 2009 Fall Sportsmanship Award. In the fall, she will be attending the University of Richmond, where she has been recognized as a Richmond Scholar with the Boatwright designation.

Sara Bachman is the daughter of Marybeth and David Bachman of Falmouth. She has lettered in varsity soccer, basketball and lacrosse for four years. Sara received the Fall Leadership Award and the Winter Sportsmanship Award her senior year. She is the president of her class and is an active member of the Environmental Action Committee, the yearbook and the Key Club. She has also participated in the Decision Awareness Group of Students (DAGS) program and National Honor Society for the last three years. Outside of school, Sara is a member of the Falmouth Green Ribbon Commission and enjoys time on Cow Island with the Rippleffect program. Last year, Sara was awarded the Sandra Robbins Falmouth Rotary Community Service Award. She is a 2009 Western Maine Conference Citizenship Award recipient. Sara will be attending Middlebury College in February of 2010 as she is taking off the first semester to travel to Costa Rica and volunteer in conservation. She would like to thank her parents, teachers, coaches and friends for making her time at Falmouth High School unforgettable.

Katrina Butt is the daughter of Richard and Susan Butt of Falmouth. Katrina is a member of the National Honor Society, math team, Key Club, Decision Awareness Group of Students (DAGS), and the varsity field hockey team. She is Treasurer of the Student Council, and has volunteered at Southern Maine Medical Center. Katrina has participated in numerous musical groups as an accomplished clarinetist and vocalist, including the Portland Youth Wind Ensemble, Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra, All State Band, Musica de Filia Girlchoir, District II Honors Band and Chorus, Falmouth Chamber Singers, and Women's Ensemble. Katrina also marched in the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with the Macy's Great American Marching Band. Katrina plans to attend Bucknell University this fall, majoring in economics.

Kimberly Butt is the daughter of Richard and Susan Butt of Falmouth. Kimberly is a member of the National Honor Society. As an accomplished musician, she played trumpet in the All State Band and District II Honors Band, and was a member of the Portland Youth Wind Ensemble. Kimberly is also a vocalist with Musica de Filia Girlchoir, Falmouth Chamber Singers and Women's Ensemble, and participated in the District II Honors Choral Festival. She is a member of the math team, Drug Awareness Group of Students, Key Club and varsity field hockey. During her summers, Kimberly has volunteered at Southern Maine Medical Center. She will attend Bucknell University in the fall where she plans to major in accounting.

Alexandrea Carrier is the daughter of Paul and Paula Carrier. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been recognized for academic achievement in French and world history. She has been a member of the Decision Awareness Group of Students (DAGS) program as well as the field hockey and ice hockey teams for four years. She served as a varsity ice hockey assistant captain during her senior year. She participated in Mock Trial and joined the school's first Model United Nations team in her junior year. The summer before her senior year, Alex spent nine weeks as an overnight counselor at the YMCA Camp of Maine in Winthrop. As a senior, she has been co-chair of the Model United Nations team, and a member of both the outdoor track team and the Adventure Leadership program. Alex will attend the University of Richmond in the fall and plans to major in biology.

Kelsey Conroy is the daughter of Brian and Linda Conroy of Falmouth. She has participated in numerous clubs and activities at Falmouth High School, but feels listing them is less significant than articulating what she has learned from these experiences. She also strongly believes that the titles of her courses are less important than the identity and questions formed throughout the class. High school has opened her eyes to the realization that academic competition measured in numbers, letters, and grades do not place value on a human being. Rather, it is reciprocating the knowledge gained and forever being kind, loving, and gentle that establish you as a person. Kelsey loves to think, question, and imagine, and hopes this curiosity will continue as she pursues a post-secondary education at Colby College this fall.

John Coster is the son of Michael and Katherine Coster. Throughout high school he has been a member of the Theatre Company at Falmouth. Jack was a cast member of two State Champion One Act Plays. He was honored with All Festival Cast awards both years. Jack is a four-year member of the varsity tennis team. He also played on the soccer team. Prior to playing varsity, he was "Yachtie the Yachtsman," the team mascot at home soccer games. He particularly enjoyed the opportunity to be mascot at the 2008 State Championship games for both Boys and Girls teams. Jack has been a lawyer, witness and co-captain of the Mock Trial Team. Jack is also a writer and announcer for school video announcements. Jack is a member of the National Honor Society, an AP Scholar and has received a citation for excellence in AP Psychology. Outside of school he enjoys skiing with his friends and family at Sugarloaf. Next year Jack will attend Dartmouth College and will pursue his interests in history and government.

Rachel Eklund is the daughter of Wayne and Virginia Eklund of Falmouth. She has worked hard in her years at Falmouth High School to be involved in the school, community, and with her friends. She has committed much of her time to various groups as the president of the Key Club, treasurer of the National Honor Society and the editor of the yearbook. She was recognized for the Falmouth Rotary Outstanding Community Service Award and the Smith College Book Award among others. Rachel has loved the antics and pseudo-families resulting from Adventure Leadership and various sports teams, especially field hockey. Outside of school, Rachel continues to love Community Service. She was fortunate enough to be a volunteer at the Kids First Center, Safe Passage, and has been a devoted for years to Cedars Nursing Home and Maine Medical Center. She likes nothing more than regency England and a hike in the woods. Rachel will attend Cornell University in the fall with a major in Human Development.

Kathryn Goffin is the daughter of Peter Goffin and Marsha Clark of Falmouth. She is a member of the National Honor Society, received the Phi Beta Kappa Award and the Arion Award, and has been recognized for achievement in science and in math. She has participated in the Key Club and math team and has been a diver on the swimming and diving team for the past three years. Along with diving, Kathryn has also danced for three years and has enjoyed doing gymnastics since the age of three. She has volunteered at Kid's First Center and participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, along with participating in many other volunteering opportunities. Kathryn will attend Wellesley College where she plans to major in biochemistry.

Anne Hebson, the daughter of Margaret and Charles Hebson, is a member of the National Honor Society. Anne received the Connecticut College Book Award, as well as recognition for academic achievement in English, history and French. A two-year member of the varsity field hockey team, Anne was selected to the Western Maine Conference First Team in 2007 and the All-State All Academic Team in 2008. She played for the Katahdin Field Hockey Club in the off-season. During her freshman and sophomore years, Anne sang in the choir and was involved with the school musicals; as a junior she joined the Key Club. Anne has volunteered at the Falmouth Memorial Library, field hockey clinics and Habitat for Humanity. Reading, running, and riding horses are some of her favorite pastimes. She will attend Colby College in the fall.

Kristin Jackson is the daughter of Roberta Jackson of Falmouth and the late John Jackson. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been recognized for her academic achievements in science, Spanish, and psychology. Kristin has been a member of the swim team for all four years and has broken three school records and one state record. She was elected captain in her junior and senior years. She was named the Maine Sunday Telegram's Girls Swimming MVP in both 2008 and 2009, and also earned the title of the Forecaster's Winter Female Athlete of the Year in 2007-08 and 2008-09. Kristin has volunteered at Riding to the Top Therapeutic Riding Center and also at the Freeport YMCA preschool. In the summer, Kristin is a day camp counselor for Falmouth Community Programs. She will attend Brown University in the fall and plans to study environmental science and marine biology.

Emily Kingry is the daughter of Kevin and Debbie Kingry of Falmouth. A member of the National Honor Society, she has sought to balance academic success and extracurricular involvement throughout her four years at Falmouth. Emily received the Cornell University Book Award and the University of Rochester Xerox Award and was also recognized for academic achievements in earth science, world history, and French. Emily has been a dedicated member of the field hockey program and was voted as one of four captains of the 2008 Class B Runner-Up team. This past fall she received honorable mention to the Western Maine Class B Conference Field Hockey team, was a member of the Maine All-State Academic Team, and was featured as a Portland Press Herald Spotlight Athlete. Emily has run with the indoor track team for three winters and was a three-year member of the girl's lacrosse team. She has participated in Key Club, the Environmental Action Committee, and the Adventure Leadership program throughout high school, was a Maine Medical Center Junior Volunteer for two summers, and an ambassador to the 2007 Maine Youth Leadership Seminar. Emily will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this fall where she plans to major in biology.

Courtney Mazur is the daughter of Jim and Meredith Mazur of Falmouth. She is the Class of 2009 Salutatorian, President of the Student Council, a National Merit Finalist and a member of the National Honor Society. She has been recognized for academic excellence in the sciences, math, French and English and was honored to receive the Wellesley Book Award and the Rensselaer Medal. Courtney was a four-year member of the field hockey and Nordic ski teams. She served as co-captain of the ski team this year, and represented Maine in the Eastern High School Nordic Championships. She has been active in FIRST robotics, jazz band and theater throughout her high school years. Courtney contributed countless hours to community events, including organizing blood drives at school, working with younger students through the Decision Awareness Group of Students (DAGS), fundraising for and riding in the Trek Across Maine for ten years, and working on a construction project and in medical clinics in Honduras. Courtney's experiences in Honduras and robotics have led her to pursue studies in biomedical engineering and French at Brown University.

Timothy Myers is the son of Kenneth and Julie Myers of Falmouth. He is a National Merit Finalist and a recipient of the Princeton Book Award of Maine. Tim is a member of the National Honor Society who has been recognized for academic achievement in world and U.S. history, government, and chemistry. He has represented Falmouth in both varsity baseball and football. As a senior, he was named a captain for the 2008 football season and received the 2008 Greenwood Award. Along with private piano study, Tim has been a four-year member of both the concert band and jazz band, where he was an "I" rated soloist. He has twice performed "Taps" at the Falmouth Memorial Day Parade and was selected to be the guest student conductor at the 2008 Falmouth High School Graduation. Tim spends his free time skiing and exploring his recently discovered passion for photography. He will study at the University of Michigan in the fall, where he plans to attend the Ross School of Business.

Evan Pryzant is the son of Rodger and Eydie Pryzant of Falmouth. He is an AP Scholar with Honor, National Merit Finalist and a member of National Honor Society. He enjoys music by playing piano as well as trumpet. On trumpet he participated in District II band, jazz band, and the Portland Youth Wind Ensemble and Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra. Additionally he was a member of Dirigo Boys State and participated in Mock Trial throughout high school. Evan was captain of the Mock Trial team for his final two years. He will attend Duke University in the fall.

Kristen Stogsdill is the daughter of Russ and Patty Stogsdill of Falmouth. She is the Vice President of the National Honor Society, received the Yale Book Award, and has been recognized for academic achievement in mathematics, French and world history. She has participated in Key Club and Big Buddies and regularly volunteers at the Kid's First Center. Kristen loves music and has been part of the concert band and choir since sixth grade. She has also enjoyed being a member of the swim team for four years and has worked as a waitress at a retirement community in Portland since freshman year. In the fall, she will be attending Bowdoin College where she plans to explore neuroscience.

Bannus Van der Kloot is the son of Tom and Cathy Van der Kloot of Falmouth. He is a member of National Honor Society, received the Dartmouth book award, and has been recognized for academic achievement in mathematics, Latin, and earth science. He is a four-year member and captain of the FIRST robotics team. He also helped facilitate a LEGO robotics program at the elementary school run by Ms. Barry and Ms. Rossi. Bannus loves to play and listen to music. He has played classical piano since the age of five and played in the high school Jazz Ensemble for three years. He has also been a member of the baseball team for four years. Bannus will attend Harvard College in the fall and is planning to focus on math, science, or engineering.
