Jonathan Henry Angus is the son of John J. Angus and Linda F. Angus of Wells. Jon plans to attend the University of Connecticut majoring in Pre-Pharmaceutical studies. His major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include soccer, basketball, lacrosse, marching band, concert band, jazz band, National Honor Society, Leadership Academy and the math team.
Megan Danielle Blier is the daughter of Kimberly Blier of Wells. Megan plans to attend Bentley College and major in Finance and Accounting. Her major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include varsity softball (Western Maine Conference First Team All Star), varsity basketball (Western Maine Conference Senior All Star), varsity field hockey (Academic All-State Team), National Honor Society, Interact Club President, Class of 2008 Vice President, Speaker of the House for the Student Council, Leadership Academy, varsity soccer and Western Maine Conference Good Citizenship Award.
Dorian Ascher Booth is the son of Doreen Adler-Booth and W. Bradley Booth of Ogunquit. Ascher will attend the University of Miami's School of Architecture in Coral Gables, Florida this fall. His major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include varsity golf (Western Maine State Finalist-Most Valuable Player Award WHS), varsity lacrosse (captain), varsity basketball, National Honor Society, numerous WHS Faculty Book and Certificate Awards for Outstanding Achievement, Dartmouth Book Award, Student of the Trimester Award, high honors every trimester, WHS Breakfast of Champions Award, WHS Faculty Team Award for Outstanding Scholarship and Leadership, WHS Award for Positive Contributions to the Community, participant in the Haystack Mountain School of Design at Deer Isle Maine.
Brianna Anderson Cilley is the daughter of Patricia and David Cilley of Wells. Brianna, who is the Class of 2008 Salutatorian, plans to attend Tufts University to major in Environmental Engineering. Her major activities and/or awards while at Wells High School include varsity field hockey (All-State, Academic All-State, 1st Team All Star), varsity softball (Western Maine All Star), National Honor Society Treasurer, Interact
(Speaker of the House), Class of 2008 Treasurer, Acorns to Oakes mentoring program, National Merit Commendation, Presidential Scholar nominee, and Principal's Award.
Demitrios Michael Gatzogiannis is the son of Kathy and Foto Gatzogiannis of Wells. Demitrios plans to attend Bates College and as of yet is undecided as to a major in college. His major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include varsity golf, varsity basketball, varsity baseball, National Honor Society, Liberty Mutual Athlete of the Month Award and 2008 Maine McDonald's All-State Academic Team-Basketball.
Casey Layne Gregoire is the daughter of Laurie and Richard Gregoire of Wells. Casey will be attending Stonehill College following the Pre-Med program majoring in Neuro-Science with a minor in Psychology. Her major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include varsity basketball, varsity softball, drama, marching and jazz band, Student Council and the National Honor Society.
Jesse Ian Hamilton is the son of Andrea Hamilton and John Hamilton of Wells. Jesse, who is the 2008 Class Valedictorian, plans to attend Johns Hopkins University to major in Biomedical Engineering. His major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include National Merit Finalist, Siemens Award for Advanced Placement, AP Scholar with Distinction, Presidential Scholar Nominee, Princeton Book Award, first in grade at Maine Association of Math Leagues for 3 years, oboist in York County District Band and All State Band and Orchestra for four years, Wells-Ogunquit Literary Achievement Awards, marching, jazz, and concert bands, math team, National Honor Society and pianist for chorus and drama productions.
Meghan Elizabeth Kelly is the daughter of Katheryn Kelly of Wells. Meghan plans to attend Colby College to major in Political Science. Her major activities and/or awards received while in Wells High School include dance participation with the Arts Rochester Creative Arts Dance Company, Rochester, NH (Jazz Dance-1996-Present-Intensive Dance Program, Ballet Dance-Present-Intensive Dance Program, Pointe Dance-Present-Intensive Dance Program), Ensemble Dance Company Arts Rochester Rochester, NH (audition based traveling group, performances at Prescott Arts Festival, performances at Dance Rochester , performances at the Cocheco Arts Academy, performances at Plymouth State College Dance Festival), Nutcracker (Arts Rochester, Rochester, NH December 2006 and December 2007), Class of 2008 Secretary, Student Council Vice President, York Hospital Community Health Connection, National Honor Society Secretary, Literary Achievement Awards, Phi Beta Kappa, Williams College Book Award, Student of the Trimester and numerous academic awards.
Katelyn Marie Lewia is the daughter of Mark and Annette Lewia of Wells. Katelyn plans to attend Hofstra University to major in Journalism. Her major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include four varsity years of field hockey, indoor and outdoor track, member of National Honor Society and Leadership Academy, senior yearbook editor; 2006 2nd Team Western Maine Conference All-Star for field hockey and 2007 1st team as well as 2007 All-State Team (field hockey), several book awards and athletic awards, Western Maine Conference Good Citizenship Award and captain of all sports participated in.
Kathleen Annie McDonough is the daughter of Edward and Pamela McDonough of Wells. Kathleen has been guaranteed acceptance at Cornell in her sophomore year and will meet her general education requirements at York County Community College as a freshmen. At Cornell University she plans to major in Industrial and Labor Relations. The major activities and/or awards received while at Wells High School include Senate Page in Washington, D.C., Student Council member and secretary, HOBY Conference attendee, Maine Youth Voices, marching band, concert band, chorus and a Girls State representative.
