HANNAH VERRILL, Valedictorian
I am attending the University of Maine in the fall and will major in Chemical Engineering. In high school I was part of the Math Team, and was part of NHS, Student Council, Octagon Club, and helped out with the Class of 2008's activities. I've had a great four years. Thank you to all the people who have helped me along the way.
MEGAN BAGDON
Becoming certified in Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC), applying that knowledge as a member of the Lost Valley Ski Patrol, participating in the District II Choral festival two years in a row, singing in my church choir and assisting with religious education, and keeping good grades while working part time. I am excited that my schedule will remain full for years to come, as I am attending the University of New England this fall with Pre-Med and Marine Biology as my intended fields of study.
EMILY BARTLETT
I have been involved in the Pony Club, 4-H Club, and Destination Imagination. Next year I will attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle and will in Biology. After that I hope to attend veterinary school.
RACHEL DREW
I have been very active participating in Junior Varsity Basketball, Cross Country, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track, Drama, Math Team, Environmental Team, Octagon Club, NHS, Class President, Class Representative, and Student Council. I had an amazing high school experience and can't wait to see what Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY has in store for me. I will be majoring in Environmental Engineering in hopes of making a difference in the world.
ZACH FIELD
I am the Student Council President, Class Treasurer, Octagon Treasurer, and a National Honor Society member. I currently hold a job at Hannaford Bros. I plan to go to Bentley College for business.
HENRY GLENNON
I am enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University in the School of Fine Arts as an Architecture major. At GNGHS, I was the lighting technician for the Patriot Players, and won two special commendations in drama festival, and was on the Math Team where attended four state math meets. I also ran cross-country for four years and threw in track, although I was never great at either. I am looking forward to university and living in a big city for the first time.
BRIAN GRANT
The activities I was involved in were Math Team, Video Club, NHS, Octagon Club, and Student Council. I will be going to the University of Maine for Electrical-Computer Engineering. The past four years have been enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to the next four.
DYANA HEALY
I have been involved in many extracurricular activities including the Octagon Club, Key Club, National Honor Society, Soccer, and student government. I have served as Class Secretary and was captain of the Soccer team my senior year. Next year I will attend the University of Maine at Farmington majoring in Early Childhood Education with a minor in French Studies.
BRANDON HOTHAM
I have been an accomplished student involved with many extra-curricular activities, including the Patriot Players Drama Club, National Honor Society, Student Council, and Octagon Club. I am the President of our Senior Class, a responsibility I really enjoy. I plan to attend the University of New England in the fall to enter their 6-year pharmacy program.
LIAM KALLOCH
I have been running track since junior year and participated in the state meet last year. I went to Boys State last June. I will attend the University of New Hampshire to major in Civil Engineering.
EMILY LICHT
Throughout high school, I was a member of the Nordic Skiing team, Soccer team, and Track team. I was also Vice President of the Class and President of the Octagon Club during my Senior Year. Next year I plan to attend the University of Vermont where I will enter the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources and enjoying the wonderful Vermont life.
EMILY MAGUIRE
During my four years at Gray-New Gloucester High School, I've participated in Drama, Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track, NHS, Octagon Club, and Student Council. This fall I'm planning on attending the University of New Hampshire as a Liberal Arts major. I'd like to thank my family, friends, and teachers for supporting me through the stressful times, and for laughing with me through all the fun times I've had at GNG!
CASSANDRA ROBINSON
I have been involved in many aspects of the school including Student Council, National Honor Society, Class Representative, and the School Yearbook. Outside of school, I have been an active member of the Studio for the Living Arts where I've studied dance for 11 years. After high school I plan to attend Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire to become an elementary school teacher.
KATHERINE SLYE
I am a member of two baton twirling teams: a four year old team, Motivation, and a five year old team, Rock Royalty, both of which have been state champions four and five years respectively. I was also third in the state for senior solo. I am a member of the yearbook and newspaper staff, a Class Representative, and Co-President of the Prom Committee. I will attend Elmira College in Elmira, New York to study Journalism.
HANNAH WURGLER
I have run Indoor and Outdoor Track since freshman year. I joined the Patriot Players sophomore year by playing in the pit. Senior year I was in the Competition One Act, the stage manager for the fall show, and have a role in our spring musical. I have a horse and I event with him in 4-H and Pony Club. I plan to attend the University of New Hampshire to study PreVet Science with a concentration in Equine Science.
