Shawn Patrick Ouellette joined the newspapers in 2002. Previously he worked as a photo intern for the Miami Herald in 1992. He was a staff photographer for the Journal Tribune in Biddeford from 1993 to 1997 and chief photographer from 1997 to 2002.
His work for the paper includes covering the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVIII, the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the Northrop Grumman Pascagoula Shipyard in Mississippi. He embedded with members of an Army Reserve Combat Support Hospital at Camp Speicher in Tikrit, Iraq and with the Maine Army National Guard serving with the 1-121 Field Artilery Battalion at Camp Navistar on the Iraq-Kuwait border. He lives in Saco with
his wife and two daughters.
