We're careening towards the end of another week, which means it's time to round-up some of the best morsels of entertainment (and bizarreness) from around the Interwebs.

The Scanner is up and running...and has bacon. (Of course.)

For the first time in a long time the Scanner was pumping out too much Internet goodness to be contained here. From Bacon Stupidity and MacGruber to bird-strike video games and politicians on Twitter.

If it keeps up at this rate I may have to start a mini daily scanner. Thoughts?

You thought the Scanner had disappeared, hadn't you? Be honest. I know I've been an absent minded professor around these parts with the election, but the good news is the election is over! There is some slightly less than good news, but we'll get into that soon enough.

In the meantime, let us wander through the dangerous and hilarious fields of the Interwebs.

I have seen amazing things over the last Week In Bacon. Things that have made me question some of my core values (outside of my pure, unflinching love of bacon).

It has been said by too many people to count that my love and undying hunger for bacon is not only weird, but fanatical.

And that may be true. I have professed a devotion and passion for bacon that some would say borders on zealotry.

But hey, at least I can say this - I haven't created an organized religion out of it.

Things have been picking up around the NXT Desk in the last week and we're getting involved in a few projects and new endeavors. But that's a post for a different time. Long story short, we'll need to keep today's blog short and on point.

And what better motivation than bacon?

If you noticed a precipitous lack of blogging from the NXT Desk over the last few days all I have to say is SHAME on you for thinking I'm that lazy.

I'll have you know I was out sick and in a very bad way. But fear not, the NXT Desk is back in fighting form, full of medication, cough drops and hand sanitizer.

What better way to get back into the swing of things other than bacon?

Oh joyous day, oh sweet rapture, no gift to be mistaken.

For I have sought, and I have found, a cookbook devoted to BACON!

This wet, dreary, overcast and overall morose weather is rough. Seriously, I look out the window here at Press Herald Plaza and want to put on some Ben Folds and crawl under my desk.
