New Podcast: Heck Yeah, Free Comic Book Day
I should warn all of you it's about it get pretty geeky on this week's podcast.
Comics. We're talking comics.
This weekend is Free Comic Book Day, which, as the name pretty much implies, is a day to get free comic books at your local comic book store.
But it's also a time to celebrate comic books and the role of your friendly neighborhood comic shop in the community.
In this week's show I went down to Casablanca Comics to talk to owner Rick Lowell comics, comics and more comics.
Or, more specifically, we chatted about why he started his business, compared favorite books, just how "dead" some dead superheroes are, and how comic books have creeped into mainstream popular culture.
We also touched on the first Maine Comic Arts Festival, which Lowell created and is taking place on May 17. You can probably expect to see more about that in this space over the next few weeks.
As always you can listen to the show in the player on the right or download the show. You can also find us on iTunes.
Finally, one programming note: You may recall I was out sick a few days last week and I'm still recovering this week. So if I sound like walking death, or the most stuffed-up nerd in the universe, now you know why.
