I am many things - observant, bacon mad and power hungry to name a few. But I like to also think of myself as pragmatic, so if I can find a practical use for something, I usually will do so.

With Halloween a few days out, I thought I would create a Google Map showing parties, hayrides, haunted houses, walking tours and other events.

Use the map to find events in your neighborhood and community. Click through the markers to find out more information on events between now and Saturday, including time and ticket prices. Don't forget to zoom out for events outside the Portland area!

The best part about this map? It's incomplete. OK, that may not sound great, but here's what I mean: If you know of an event then go ahead and add it. The map is open to the public so all you have to do is click for the larger map. Once you're there it's as simple as hitting the "edit" button, finding the location of your event and placing a marker there with some information. (As always, remember to save)
