Red Auerbach and the flopping menace
Any observer of this blog knows that from time to time we'll take a few diversions into sports, because, well, just because we can.
In this case with the Celtics about to square off against the Lakers in the NBA Finals for the first time in over 20 years (I was seven the last time they clashed) it seemed fitting to offer up some video love.
Here's Celtics legend and championship architect Red Auerbach taking on one of the biggest threats to the NBA: Flopping. That's right, even back in the 1970s flopping began to rear its ugly head, even before European players came to the shores of the U.S. in large numbers.
Not only is this educational, but if the classic NBA unis (when men wore short shorts with pride) aren't worth a little entertainment, then you have no soul.
Red breaks down just what is a foul, and what's not, and has a few words for all you would be floppers out there. You know who you are.
