NXT Radio: Fashionable and Green
It's been a while since we've had a new podcast. I know, I know, we're so lazy and surly around here, it's amazing anything gets done on the NXT desk.
Just to make it up to you we've put together a good one - it's got heart, guts, fashion and youthful optimism. If you're into that.
I am pretty familiar with the students over at the Portland Arts and Technology High School, (PATHS) thanks to writing a few stories about all the great programs that take place there, including the fashion merchandising program.

When they asked me to be their guest commentator for this year's student fashion show, I didn't hesitate to say yes - partially because it sounded like fun and also because I'm a complete, unabashed fame hound.
Jokes aside, it's always fun to do events around the community. The cynic and journalist in me says it's a great way to find new sources and story ideas. But the truth is it's a lot of fun and a chance to just meet new people and let them know more about life here at Press Herald Plaza.
I figured the fashion show would be a simple affair and I would not have to call on my own fashion knowledge to pull through the evening. Though I fancy myself a decent dresser and reader of Esquire and GQ, I think it would be a stretch to say I'm fashionable.
There were ups, downs, high wire anxiety and duct tape, as well as a few surprises along the way. To find out the rest, give the podcast a listen in the player to the right, or download.
Many thanks to Jane Krasnow and her students in the Fashion Merchandising program at PATHS, as well as the Video Technology and Multimedia crew who held things down on the A/V end for the evening.
Music in this week's show comes courtesy of Slowing Room and brick.city.media.
