We've come a long way 'Stache

It's been a long, scary and hairy two months. We've laughed, we've cried, we've gotten things stuck in embarassing places.

Yes, I'm talking about you Mustache.

It's been a long two months since I started my journey of manhood, or 'stache-hood, as the case may be.

We've learned a lot in that time, things like, when it comes to a 'stache-off, Burt Reynolds always wins.

Today's the last day of The Great 'Stache Off. As you may recall I entered into the competition to show stache pride/awareness and also raise money for testicular cancer research. Well, I did at least one of those things.
(I'll let you decide which)

Head over to the site to check on my standings and if you feel so moved, make a last minute donation.

Tomorrow could be the first day of the rest of my 'stache-less days. But I am thinking, with the passing of Mr. G, maybe keeping the 'stache could be some kind of tribute. Either that or I am going to really have to step it up on learning show tunes. As it is a few songs from "Guys and Dolls" and "A Chorus Line" won't do it.

I think it's time to put it to another vote.

Tomorrow we decide the fate of The 'Stache

Dude. The Stache is off and I couldn't be happier. I had a professional old-school style barber shave with a straight edge. So cool

Justin is a former newspaper intern and has the scar tissue to prove it. Justin has been a staff writer for the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram since 2003, and in 2004 began writing a weekly column in the Monday Magazine.

If he had to pick a label, the column would fall under "youth culture," covering everything from high school dance etiquette, dealing with college debt, the resurgence of Roller Derby and Portland's one-of-a-kind music scene. This of course has not stopped him from answering letters to Santa Claus or writing about his experience riding shotgun in a drift car.

Justin is an export from the Midwest. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and is originally from Minnesota. He enjoys bacon, cheap beer, redheads, Burt Reynolds jokes and wondering what the soundtrack to his life would sound like.

When he grows up he wants to be an international art thief. Or Captain America.

Until then he'll be bringing you dispatches about "the young people" and what they do.
