Pop!Tech - Following the buzz

I mentioned it before, but Pop!Tech has corralled a great many thinkers, inventors and scientists. (Seriously, this morning I think I heard someone introduce them self from GlaxoSmithKline.)

Not to mention attention from people like me from the "old lady" media, but also a great deal of new media too.

Here's a few links to some other folks who are live blogging at Pop!Tech, and doing a much better job than me. Check out some of their insights:

Down the Avenue
The Next Billion - with posts from Rob Katz, who I just briefly met in one of the overflow rooms.
Boing Boing Gadget - Check out their take on the replicator.
Core77
Josh Spear who, as I was looking up other blogs, I just discovered is sitting right next to me.
Wired's Underwire blog
Ethan Zuckerman's blog which does a far better and more complete job of capturing the conference thus far.

Also, if you head to to the Pop!Tech Flickr page, you can check out some of the images from today Check out the replicator! I am telling you, I'm not getting over this replicator thing any time soon.

Be back later.

Justin is a former newspaper intern and has the scar tissue to prove it. Justin has been a staff writer for the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram since 2003, and in 2004 began writing a weekly column in the Monday Magazine.

If he had to pick a label, the column would fall under "youth culture," covering everything from high school dance etiquette, dealing with college debt, the resurgence of Roller Derby and Portland's one-of-a-kind music scene. This of course has not stopped him from answering letters to Santa Claus or writing about his experience riding shotgun in a drift car.

Justin is an export from the Midwest. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and is originally from Minnesota. He enjoys bacon, cheap beer, redheads, Burt Reynolds jokes and wondering what the soundtrack to his life would sound like.

When he grows up he wants to be an international art thief. Or Captain America.

Until then he'll be bringing you dispatches about "the young people" and what they do.
