  • A story on Page A1 Sunday about traumatic brain injury misspelled the name of Dr. Bruce Sigsbee. It was a reporter's error.
  • An Audience column on Page E4 of the May 6 Maine Sunday Telegram should have said that there are steel drum bands that play Calypso music in Maine. It was a columnist's error.
  • A brief on Page C1 Saturday about a performance of the St. Cecilia Chamber Choir at St. Luke's Cathedral in Portland should have said the event will take place on Saturday. It was a copy editor's error.
  • May 13, 2007

    CLARIFICATION: A story on Page A1 of the April 8 Maine Sunday Telegram was focused on how Canadian opposition to liquefied natural gas tankers in Head Harbour Passage could derail the two LNG projects currently under review. It did not intend to suggest that any other energy projects might not be pursued in Washington County.

    A Highlights item on Page B7 in Wednesday's final edition should have listed the location of the North Yarmouth Historical Society's Home Movie Night as North Yarmouth Memorial School on Route 9. The change in location was not received in time for publication.
    A calendar listing on Page D15 Thursday about a benefit concert at Sacred Heart Church in Yarmouth should have said it will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. It was a news clerk's error.

    A story on Page A1 Tuesday about passage of an anti-graffiti ordinance in South Portland should have said the law treats adults and minors the same, as both can be arrested for being on private or public property with spray paint, broad-tipped markers or other graffiti tools. It was a reporter's error.

    CLARIFICATION:
    An Associated Press graphic that appeared on Page A2 Friday included data that did not match numbers in the accompanying story about gun-homicide deaths. That's because the graphic included suicides, accidental deaths and undetermined deaths.
    An information box on Page B1 Sunday should have identified the 11th clerk of the U.S. District Court in Maine as Morris Cox. Incorrect information was supplied to the newspaper.

  • A photo caption on Page A12 Wednesday should have identified a washed out road in East Waterboro as Townhouse Road. It was a photographer's error.
  • April 19, 2007

    A recipe for tomato risotto on Page C3 in Wednesday's editions should have included measurements for two ingredients: arborio rice, 2 cups; diced tomatoes, 1 cup. It was a freelance writer's error.

    An editorial on Page A10 Wednesday said that School Committee member Ben Meiklejohn's license was suspended a year ago. It was actually taken away March 8. It was an editorial writer's error.

    April 10, 2007

    A dispatch on Page B2 Monday should have said the Windham municipal budget could increase to $13.96 million from $13.91 million. It was a reporter's error.

    A story on Page B1 on Saturday should have listed the names of two organizations that will be represented on Portland's new Business Diversity Task Force as the Portland Independent Business & Community Alliance, which oversees the Portland Buy Local campaign, and the Maine Real Estate & Development Association. Incorrect information was provided to the newspaper. Also, the name of Roxane Cole was misspelled. It was a reporter's error.

    An editorial on page A6 Wednesday said, incorrectly, that voter approval would be needed for the city of Portland to borrow $1.7 million to build a clubhouse at Hadlock Field. All that is required is the approval of seven of the nine city councilors. It was an editorial writer's error.

    A story on Page B1 Saturday about members of the Maine Army National Guard being deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border should have identified one of the units as the 185th Engineer Support Company. It was a reporter's error.

    A Potluck listing on Page B4 Wednesday for an event Saturday at Stevens Avenue Congregational Church, Portland, should have said it will be a roast beef supper with admission prices of $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Incorrect information was provided to the newspaper.
