Makes no sense to me... except that the Maine Liberal Pablem pukers are on full alert... Ya I know we blew them up so deserve to fix em... there were with others... but hell they should be the richest country in the world with all the oil and natural gas.... Why do they need our help when they were already living some where else... hmmmm tough one to figure... "have to have family near by" define "near" and who the heck knows who their family is... Never forget 911... the network is coming... remember where it started....hmmm was it Portland.... I haven't forgotten.... How many laid off Mainers do not get the services these folks will get... Young folks starting out...hmmm so many unanswered questions.... but that is the Maine wayreport abuse

"The U.S. typically has less generous benefits than many other countries, but better work opportunities, U.S. officials say."

- I'm having a hard time swallowing that claim.report abuse

Merry Christmas people! We're in the good 'ol US of A! If you're born here you get to struggle to survive and get the third degree if misfortune strikes and you need help. If you're a refugee you get red carpet treatment and help with everything.
I think it's absolutely appalling that we have 50 million plus Americans without health insurance yet can offer health care to non Americans.
Look at the food this lady is preparing. How many Americans can afford fruit and vegetables? Some of our Seniors eat cat and dog food so they can afford their medicines and heat.
Of course we shouldn't turn our anger toward the refugees. They are just taking advantage of what is offered them by OUR OWN KIND!! They are looking to make a better life like we are.
My anger is directed at those who bring these people here and provide them with everything. We should know WHO they are. My bet is they are the same people who refuse to help their own American citizens who need help. HOW can we do this considering the state and Federal budget cuts that are hurting so many?report abuse

Wow. I wish it was that easy for my adult daughter, who waited six months for disability income, to get medical help. She receives no compensated medical care from the government, even though she has a serious liver disease and cannot work. She receives disability S.S. payments but no medical care. She goes without. Why should she have to go through this when it looks like the refugees receive immediate and thorough care?report abuse
