And you know they would of shot the male first because? And you know they are coach because you read about it where?

Your bleeding heart kills me....because 99% of the time this is how they ethnically cleanse a region..keep the female populus and rid themselves of the males(who are a greater threat). Coaching goes on all of the time, the UN has even reported on it...Somalia, Chechnya, Serbia, Sudan, Congo..yes tragic things are happening and I am appaulled that some are using 'others' tragedies to further themselves, aren't you? Did you miss the part where the US State Dept said they couldn't confirm any of the stories, but I guess you and the CCofM can? They roll them out to the newspaper like they are the truth... I welcome the Iraqi's to Maine, now go find a job and start your life here in the US, don't wait for others to lift you up...that wasn't what this country was founded on.report abuse

Phil Rossetti, my family is from all over Europe. They had to come here and work and got NO assistance from the government. My family didn't get public assistance, and then when it ran out, move to a different part of the country to get more assistance. I have no problem with them coming here if they can support themselves, but it bothers me that we have to foot the bill for them.report abuse

the sad thing is most of you claim to be christians. super morally correct and whatnot.

why do i the atheist appear more compassionate to their situation? aren't i a moraless heathen?

don't you folks learn anything in church? or is it only to hate and fear those different than you?

i'll give them the benefit of the doubt the first time that they do want to work and be successful.

i give that benefit to everyone. its then up to them to live up to their claims.

giles out.report abuse

I don't say much very often , but after reading some of these stupid and very selfish remarks about the Iraq Relocation to Maine , I can see some of these people don't the true meaning freedom & hope. My family migrated here in early 1900 . And I'm sure if you check your ansestry you will see yours probablly did to! You have no right to deny these people anything ! Give the chance they need . Because if they take a job in Maine it will probablly be the job you wont lower youself to do.report abuse

As someone said earlier, you need to write your senators and congressmen about this. They are the ones that can do something to prevent refugees from moving. I also can't help but wonder if the economy was better if people would feel the way they do.report abuse

First it was 200, now it's 300. Soon it will be 1,000 and more. If these people cared about their own country and took the action necessary to change it, they wouldn't have to come here to live off our welfare. Our country went through a devastating civil war to cement our values and principles that remain to this day; the Iraquis need to do the same... take charge of their own sorry country (yes, I've been there), fix it and stay there, rather than bailing out and living a good life at our expense.

Here's a question: Why don't they move to New Hampshire? The answer: Because New Hampshire does not give away the store to freeloaders. The message: As long as Maine continues to be excessively generous to those who won't carry their own weight, we will continue to import them from less generous states. If the Iraquis (and Somalis, etc.) were truly sincere about becoming productive residents, they would stay where the U.S. Government settles them and make the most of the benefits that are provided in those locations. Their migration to the states with better benefits is nothing more than a money grab, and we're paying for it.report abuse

SL of SP, ME - "How many of you bleeding hearts actually believe the stories? The first one...they would have shot the males first, not a girl... The nightmares comment guarantees a PTSD diagnosis for the wife and kids, this makes them disabled and gathers more hand-outs. .....These stories are coached to many of the refugees because they hold the buzz words that will give them status over others trying to get a free ride to America or Europe."

And you know they would of shot the male first because? You are suddenly an expert on Iraqi culture and beliefs. And you know they are coach because you read about it where? You have no clue about immigration in this country other than how to act towards those immigrants if you a a B---t.report abuse
