Catching up with ...
Just a few thoughts after returning to the office following an extended weekend ...
We caught up with Logan Crane on Monday - which, if you're a sprinter, might be pretty hard to do considering Crane's speed. Crane, who spearheaded the track program at Freeport, has taken on a unique training routine at Tufts, one that's common for NCAA women's basketball teams – practicing against male athletes.
It's a method that, while common, that has come under scrutiny and could be up for debate at this year's NCAA Convention.

The NCAA men's and women's tournament have one local tie left.
The Stanford women advanced to the Women's Final Four with a 98-87 win Monday over Maryland. Former McAuley standout Ashley Cimino did not play, as the Cardinal used only seven players in the win.
The season ended for another former area women's basketball name as Texas A&M defeated Duke, coached by former Brunswick High standout Joanne P. McCallie.
In the men's tournament, the clock struck midnight for the Davidson men's basketball team on Sunday, ending Bryant Barr's sophomore season.
Barr scored 11 points in a 59-57 loss to Kansas but the former Falmouth standout created a few tense moments in the House of Blues (my husband is a Kansas grad and a die-hard Rock Chalk Jayhawker) when his three 3-pointers gave Davidson a four-point lead in the second half.
(As for my brackets? I've lost track.)
