Fix Cup

Four teams will meet Monday at the Cumberland County Civic Center to play in the second annual Fix Cup tournament, named after the late Frank Fixaris, one of the state's best-known sports broadcasters. The exhibition tournament began last year and is modeled after the legendary Beanpot Tournament in Boston.

Falmouth, the defending tournament champion, faces Kennebunk at 6 p.m. Monday, followed by Biddeford against Portland in the second semifinal.

The tournament semifinal is scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Civic Center, followed by the tournament championship game.

we have a son that is a senior at westbrook high school on their varsity basketball team. we have recruiters asking us for his stats and we know he is one of the top scorers, but can't find the stats online anywhere. they are available for the girls basketball and hockey, but where can we find the boys?

Rachel is in her fourth year as a sports reporter at the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram. A Maryland native and a former college soccer and softball player, she covered high school and college sports at newspapers in Pennsylvania, Texas and Colorado before joining the Press Herald/Sunday Telegram staff in June of 2004.

She grew up watching the NHL, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Georgetown basketball and the Baltimore Orioles and is a confessed sports nut. Her interests include reading and movies, going to the gym, Motown and '70s R&B music and following the New York City tabloids.

Married in July, she and her husband Tommy are avid Steelers and Kansas Jayhawks fans. Their toughest decision as newlyweds has been "NESN or ESPN?"
