Already looking ahead
The future already looks bright for the Bonny Eagle football team, which will play Lawrence next week for its third Class A title.
In Saturday's 49-16 win over Marshwood for the Western Class A championship, the offensive backfield tandem of Josh Ruby and Dayton McPherson accounted for 157 of the Scots' 190 rushing yards in the second half. Ruby and McPherson are juniors - the Scots' roster includes 19 juniors, 19 sophomores, 11 seniors and eight freshmen.

Championship Saturday is a week away and six teams will meet for three titles at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland.
Class A: Bonny Eagle (11-0) vs. Lawrence (11-0)
Class B: Gardiner (10-1) vs. Mountain Valley (10-1)
Class C: Foxcroft Academy (11-0) vs. Boothbay Region (10-1)
The Maine Principals' Association will announce times for the three state title games early next week.
