Fitzpatrick watch 11/2 ... and then some
Two potential Fitzpatrick Trophy candidates to watch this weekend:
Robbie Trask, Thornton Academy: Trask may not put up big numbers, but the Thornton senior has a knack for rising to the occasion. In a 28-6 win over Biddeford last week, Trask scored two touchdowns – one on a 55-yard run.
Jon Hussey, Marshwood: Hussey had 221 yards on 33 carries and scored a touchdown in the Hawks' 14-7 win at Massabesic. Hussey also made a key defensive play in the final seconds of the game to help the Hawks secure the win.
Hussey and Trask's teams will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hill Stadium in a Western Class A semifinal - the game was pushed up as a result of storms in the forecast for Saturday.

The Smith Center, Kan., football team scored 72 points in the first quarter of an 83-0 win over Plainville on Tuesday.

And for those of you gearing up for basketball season, here's a story out of Israel about Samer Jasser, a starter for Lee Academy's postgraduate basketball team.
